Founders

The Osano Memorial Foundation was created in 1987 in Yamanashi Prefecture thanks to a donation by Mrs Eiko Osano. Through her donation, Mrs Osano was able to honor the last wishes of her husband, the late Mr Kenji Osano. Mr. Osano, a Yamanashi native, wanted to create a new culture through international exchanges and the prefecture’s development.

Activities

The aim of the Osano Memorial Foundation is to contribute to internationalization and cultural development in Yamanashi through international exchanges such as sports and cultural events. This foundation currently carries out the following activities:

1. A junior high school essay contest in order to deepen international understanding
2. The publication of the Grapevine, a bi-annual magazine in English promoting Yamanashi
3. Support for international exchanges and cooperation
